The Lagoon (Abner Preis, curated by Sergio Bromberg)
Working class artist
Who ever says that the life of an artist is fun and awesome is correct to say that- but the life of a working artist has its…well….work. In my latest installation the Lagoon for the opening of the season was at Venice 6114 in Culver City California and curated by Sergio Bromberg (who I had met at another “Lagoon” installation at Mediamatic in Amsterdam, this is the third time I had made this first was at the Art ROtterdam for the TB).
The installation is a story which you walk through, with head set and flashlight and I find my self being the door man for the work. The placed was packed and Sergio invited Matt Warren to build a bar. There was waiting list of more than an hour- and to keep the crowed under control we used booooz and smiles.
Thank you,
Abner
