The ever-evolving art of Anna Taratiel is an ongoing battle between the organic and the static. The abstract and colorful visual mental landscapes that constitute her vast body of work entwine, bulge and hug contours of sharp edges and industrial compositions. Working with a broad range of simple materials, such as fabrics, wood, cardboard, strings and paint, her drawings, collages,

and installations create an intriguing visual confusion between the two-dimensional qualities of paintings, and the three-dimensional attributes of objects. Inspired by architecture, Art Nouveau, Amusement Parks and the modernism of the early 19th century Anna’s work is not so much about abstraction, but about creating the structures and layers of an almost tactile fantasy world.
