…is a Moscow-based artist who started his career as a graffiti writer in 2000. At the time in Russia there was practically no information available about graffiti in other countries, so the writers were more original and not so heavily influenced by foreign writers’ styles as today. The most important thing Aske learned from doing graf is that in order to be noticed one should stand out and try their best to be original. Looking for more ways to develop his art, Aske began exploring graphic design and digital graphics. During this period of time he had further developed his easy-to-recognize style drawing inspiration from his passion for graffiti, typography, geometric forms, Constructivist abstraction, science fiction, Lego and video games. His unique style has become quite popular in Europe and North America, and resulted in many interesting collaborations with such prominent companies as Nike, Sony PlayStation, Stussy, Computer Arts Magazine, Montana Cans, Beautiful/Decay Apparel etc. Today Aske is one of the best-known young artists representing Russia on the international graphic design scene. In 2010 Print Magazine, USA chose him along with other nineteen young graphic artists from all over the world for their special annual issue called New Visual Artists—20 under 30. Despite the fact that Aske’s style is currently in demand and he is involved in some interesting commercial projects, his first priority is to push his art forward and explore new art forms. From graffiti to graphic design, from letter-based graphics to more sophisticated compositions, Aske has been constantly developing his art. Now with his vast experience in digital graphics Aske is taking it one step further experimenting with transposing his digital work onto material objects; over the last few years he has created a couple of foamed polystyrene sculptures, tile plywood artworks, canvases, and many more.

is a Moscow-based graffiti magazine, blog, and independent streetwear brand. CODE RED is the first Russian coloured high-quality magazine dedicated to graffiti and street art covering mainly the Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian scene. The first issue came out in 2005 and instantly became a hit. All the five issues that followed were also bilingual (Russian-English) and contained hand-picked images, exclusive interviews with both Russian and foreign graffiti writers, artists, and photographers, as well as photo materials from different graffiti jams and festivals. CODE RED has had a great influence on all local graf mags that were started later. In 2009 the CODE RED blog was launched. It has two principle goals. The first is to collect the most interesting pieces of news about graffiti, art, graphic design, and more from all around the world and bring them to the Russian-speaking audience. And the second one is to educate youngsters, to broaden their perception of art (so that they don’t limit themselves only to graffiti), get them to know the great artists of the past, as well as some young talented people from different art fields, including sculpture, illustration, design etc. In 2007 CODE RED designed and produced an exclusive can bag for graffiti writers; then some hip bags and backpacks followed. The locally made high-quality products quickly became really popular with the writers community allowing CODE RED to grow and evolve into a small independent streetwear brand. Since 2010 CODE RED has been producing limited editions of pants, shorts, hoodies, t-shirts, headwear, and other accessories.
