Matteo Donini aka The Don opened the gallery in march 2008, after being a passionate collector for more than 10 years. His friendship with Bo130 and Microbo started in 1996 and drove him into the ‘street world’ and its characters. After traveling around Europe and USA, The Don decided to open a gallery to make Italy understand the real value of art that once originated on the streets.

As announced during the first big collective show, WAKE UP!, The Don Gallery has been organizing art exhibitions in order to explore and deepen the new artistic movements derived from the

‘subculture’ of the young communities in the last thirty years.

From November 18th on The Don has a very special project planned. In collaboration with the city of Milan The Don will curate a public art show that will beautify one of the most neglected aspects of every city: manholes. A project that is beautiful as much as it is simple: get a bunch of talented international artists, let them submit designs and forge them in 3D onto Milanese manholes. Due to the elaborated techniques used, the created manholes will be staying intact for about two years. We have a special preview for you and will be back with more very soon.
