The gallery was founded as a project and Studio space in January 2006 but moved and reopened in September of 2008 at Burggasse 24, 1070 Vienna. Since its inception the gallery has shown countless artist from all over the world.

Besides presenting and selling original works, limited edition books, posters and other merchandise from Street Artists, the gallery functions as an information and contact platform in the scene and helps manage its artists for co-operations with business or cultural institutions. Through their various activities INOPERAbLE hopes to broaden the awareness and social consciousness in Vienna towards this already internationally recognized art form.
