When thinking about Cologne I never think of a very colorful city, though a recent visit and their big carnival celebration each year disprove my inhibitions massively. Now it seems that I have to get over my inhibitions all together.
In September Cologne (artrmx e.V. and Colorrevolution e.V., curated by Anne Scherer) proudly present its’ first Urban Art Festival: City Leaks. During the big event in September City Leaks asked about 30 big international names like BLU, Jim Avingnon (D), Herbert Baglione (BR), Stefan Strumbel (D), Roa (BE), and Faith47 (SA) to paint, build, install and perform on large scale murals, in empty buildings, galleries and open spaces.
Since September is still a long way to go City Leaks organized preview event last week with some of our favorite artists like Ripo, Will Barras, Abner Preis and Spacebook. Our boys had 3 days to make this huge industrial building look like art and they did a good job. The exhibition will be on view until June 25 and go out with a banging Finissage that should not be missed.
Here’s a little preview on the preview:
Location Preview: Rheinlandhalle / c/o artrmx e.V. / Venloer Str. 389
